As much as this diet sounds so tempting but difficult, luckily we can ALL abandon it. CR only works if you have a specific gene that is activated during this starvation mode, otherwise it’s absolutely useless. Not everyone haz it. I’m pretty sure none of the likers, that liked the video, have this gene.
Everyone really needs to watch the documentary Don’t Grow Old from BBC to fully understand aging and what can prevent it. Either that or learn where to read proper science, not this nonsense.
1) Comment about life expectancy being higher in countries where food is plentiful – that’s b/c they also tend to have better overall living conditions, so the correlation is incorrect 2) CR is about eating less but with higher nutrient content 3) CR is something for adults past 21 – no growing child should take on CR. They should eat healthy and plenty to fuel their growth during development years 4) before you start measuring calories, begin by eating healthy, exercise, control your portions.
does living longer mean that your happier?? why live all those years no stop thinkning about what your eating!!?? just so werid. also is losing weight and being less weight doesnt really mean your HEALTHY!

shaking my head at what appears to be obsessive compulsively food habits
@HealthQuestion I know that large, active people will slowly starve to death on 1300 calories a day.
@Stonewalljackson7 a raw foodist consumes about 1300 calories a day. Less calories means less free radicals, less tissue oxidation, less damage to your DNA. What you know about that?
@HealthQuestion You know absolutely nothing about CR, so why comment?
@piax00 : I don’t think that Okinawans practice CR, perhaps mild CR.
I’m 5’11″ (and change) and my ideal weight derived from several sources seems to be 172 pounds. If I weighed 133 pounds I don’t think I could stand up let alone walk!
@Esoparagon yeah really. like “what prevents you from wasting away to nothing?” uh… eating food? what an idiot
I’m sorry but they look old
The emperor is naked. face it guys. This couple looks absolutely terrible.
There is no reason to count calories, just practice raw foodism with moderate amount of unprocessed meat and eat till your full.

The evidence shows you to be incorrect. Source : Beyond the 120 Year Diet- Roy Wolford (Appendix has associated research papers referenced.)
5’11″ and 133lbs? He is asking for trouble should he ever face trying to overcome a serious illness. This lifestyle is probably just as unwise as that of the glutton.
that 58 year old guy looks like he is 100
@FiberMania Haha =)
Brink of starvation? Seriously? I’d say people who eat nothing but crappy foods are more starved than CR people, who by the way eat very nutrient dense and healthy food. Besides, 1500 calories may not seem like a lot, but it’s no where near starvation and certainly not “next to nothing”. Jeese, the media will say anything to attract viewers/listeners.
Yeah and they don’t know about the Illuminati…give me a break.
she says “well, we have this component restevarol” …. actually, she must have meant resveratrol; either she made a mistake or she was poorly informed
that’s awesome. We easily have the potential to live to 125, and probably to 150 when we tap into the body’s photosynthetic properties of converting energy to nutrients. A natural diet is also great for our planet, although i’m not sure how natural this couple is eating with microwaved food and what not, they seem to be misinformed to some extent.
Thats great!! i started when I was young also, i guess i still am… I started when I was 18, i’m 25 now
if done correctly, calorie restriction is an amazing DIET! i started at the young age of 28. americans eat way too much food and then scratch their head at the age of 50 when family members and themselves start developing cancer and other conditions
