R2P2-VLCD 49-57 Steak & Mug Cake (Off Protocol) + Size 8 Jeans


Checking in after being MIA for 9 days. I’ve been very busy. I’m reporting on my results with a steak & mug cake day on my birthday. It worked so well that I decided to experiment with it to see if it works every time. It worked almost every time except for one day, which I believe was a “catching up” day. If you decide to try this to break a stall or a slow loss, PLEASE make the mug cake the way that I have made it first before trying it another way. DO NOT do this every day. That’s not the point of it. Your body can only lose weight so fast. This is a way of getting your body into fat burning (ketosis). Lunch- 100 grams of sirloin steak Dinner- 100 grams of sirloin steak Dessert- Mug Cake made with macadamia nuts (recipe below) “Mac Mug Cake” 1/2 oz. of mac nuts (grind them into a powder. The powder will be a bit sticky because mac nuts are a softer nut than almonds) 1 Tbl. cocoa (or 1/2 Tbl. dark cocoa + 1/2 Tbl. cocoa) 1-1/2 Tbl. Xylitol 2 packets Splenda for Coffee Vanilla flavor (or vanilla flavoring of your choice) 1 egg 3 Tbl. heavy cream 1 Tbl. coconut oil Combine ground mac nuts, cocoa, sweetener, and vanilla in coffee mug. Mix in one egg. Add heavy cream and mix well. Last, add your tablespoon of coconut oil. If it clumps up due to the cold mixture, don’t worry about it. That is normal. Just make sure to break it up into smaller clumps. Microwave for 90 seconds. Optional: Top with fat-free Reddy Whip (only around 10-15 calories per serving)

    I’ve enjoyed your informative blogs. My wife & I are in week 4 of phase 3 and stabilizing well. I did find that I had a sudden drop in weight right at the end of phase 2 from 252# down to 250# and tried to establish that as my low weight to stabilize around. I wasn’t successful and ended up using 252# as my low weight and have had little problem maintaining 250# – 254#. The high fat – high protein – low carb is working for us. We are using the 2 carb cinnamon raisin bread with good results.

    I hate to hear that you’ve been feeling some judgment about making personal adjustments. I personally am usually a stickler to protocol, but this round I’ve been experimenting.
