What do Bacon, Eggs, Coffee and Chocolate Have in Common?

Bacon and EggsBacon, eggs, coffee and chocolate were all bad for you, but now they are good for you.  How can that be?  What a lot of changes we have to keep up with!

If you’re interested in a bacon and egg breakfast, how about using free range eggs, never fried, and organic bacon or turkey bacon.   We still have to be sensible about what we consume and never take the research for granted.

Here’s a great article showing some of the foods and vitamins from A to Z that are good for you and bad for you and it turns out they are both good and bad depending on which research study you read.

That is what I thought all along.  Everything in moderation is better than stressing over the correct proportions of the latest superfood to eat day in and day out.  The science and the research contradicts itself constantly, so you are better off to eat as varied a diet as possible staying within the good food groups, rather than concentrating on a few superfoods.

As the saying goes, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.  First eggs are bad for you, now they are good.  The occasional bacon and egg breakfast won’t kill you and a dark chocolate treat is no longer a guilty pleasure it once was.

Speaking of guilty pleasures, snacks are good for you now, if they are the right snacks and the right portion sizes.  Dieters who had three meals and two healthy snacks a day lost weight.  Now that is research we can use, and something that most weight loss programs teach.

I also enjoyed reading about the top ten food trends of the Decade.   Bacon is one trend I was not aware of  but  I don’t want to spoil the fun.  But I will always resist believing that bacon is good for you now!
